Sull’ aeroplano si raccontano storie più disparate, cittadini di questo mondo che, volando, delineano nel cielo le lunghissime traiettorie delle loro vite, portandole con sé altrove. Anche se l’idea di essere un puntino sparato nel cielo non ci ha mai fatti sentire al sicuro, l’aeroplano diventa uno strumento utile a scrivere nuove storie e scoprirne altrettante.
Siamo come semi sparsi per terra che aspettano un uragano, sappiamo cosa lasciamo ma non sappiamo dove andremo. Cambiamo luoghi e persone sfidando la gravità, approfittando di principi fisici e meccanici.
È così che l’aeroplano rappresenta la nostra libertà di scelta, la forza di volontà, la scoperta, i nuovi incontri. Guidati dalla nostra intelligenza, sganciarci dalle sicurezze.
“AIRPLANE” è stato registrato con un piano a coda e 16 microfoni a coppie, messi in varie posizioni della sala, in modo da avere ascolti diversi miscelati insieme nel modo più naturale possibile; la sessione di mix non ha avuto nessun intervento di equalizzazione e compressione. Il pianoforte si trova al centro di una cornice sonora ambientale creata attraverso la sintesi analogica, al fine di preservare il massimo della realtà sonora e di trasportare l’ascoltatore in un ambiente fisico specifico, ovvero l’interno dell’aeroplano.

On the airplane, the most disparate stories are told, citizens of this world who, flying, outline the very long trajectories of their lives in the sky, taking them with them elsewhere. Even if the idea of being a speck shot in the sky has never made us feel safe, the airplane becomes a useful tool for writing new stories and discovering just as many.
We are like seeds scattered on the ground waiting for a hurricane, we know what we leave but we don't know where we will go. We change places and people by defying gravity, taking advantage of physical and mechanical principles.
This is how the airplane represents our freedom of choice, willpower, discovery, new encounters. Guided by our intelligence, we free ourselves from certainties.
“AIRPLANE” was recorded with a grand piano and 16 microphones in pairs, placed in various positions in the room, in order to have different listening sessions mixed together in the most natural way possible; the mix session did not have any equalization and compression intervention. The piano is located at the center of an environmental sound frame created through analog synthesis, in order to preserve the maximum sound reality and transport the listener into a specific physical environment, i.e. the interior of the airplane.
